Description
Alone on a ranch in the Big Snowy Mountains of Montana, Cassie spends a frightening night. Her soon-to-be ex-husband, Vince, hunts her as he tries to take the ranch for himself before their divorce is final. Cassie survives the night but faces ongoing attacks from Vince, both inside and outside of court. It seems as if Vince will prevail and either take the ranch or destroy it.
Cassie receives unexpected help from Gabe, an old family friend and neighbor. Gabe is now a successful lawyer in Billings, the largest city in Montana in nearby Yellowstone County. Gabe's help comes at a cost because Cassie has a long time crush on Gabe, who flirts with her only to push her away.
Despite the threats and the emotional hurts, Cassie perseveres. She takes her horse herd over Half-Moon Pass in the Big Snowies in order to save them from Vince.
After Gabe turns her divorce case in her favor and helps her bring her horses home, he considers his job is done and heads back to Billings.
Cassie is again alone on her ranch in the mountains. Saddened by Gabe's departure, she resolves to put her life back together. What she doesn't anticipate is that there will be a final, deadly confrontation with Vince.
